Naru also used a small amount of his PK to break the spoon. This is the reason why Naru falls out of his chair from exhaustion the next episode. (Episode 9) to move the junk and rubble away from them to the side. Naru also uses his PK powers earlier on during the first time Mai fell down a well in the File 3: After School Hexer part 3. (Hence why he is shown slightly weaker through the rest of the episode) He used his powers to save Mai by lowering the speed of which the ceiling fell.
